Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of EDGE(“EDGE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website at edgejournal.no and the EDGE trading journal application. By creating an account, subscribing, or using EDGE, you agree to these Terms.

1. What EDGE is

EDGE is a software-as-a-service trading journal for futures traders. It helps you record trades, review decisions, track goals and accounts, analyze performance, and review behavioral and execution patterns over time.

EDGE is a journaling and analytics tool only. EDGE is not a broker, exchange, prop firm, order-routing service, financial adviser, or investment adviser. EDGE does not execute trades, hold funds, place orders, recommend specific trades, or tell you to buy or sell any financial instrument.

EDGE does not provide investment, financial, tax, or trading advice, and does not guarantee trading performance, profitability, improved results, or any particular outcome. Insights, analytics, AI Coach outputs, and journal prompts are for informational and self-reflection purposes only. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use EDGE. You are responsible for providing accurate account information and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

You may not share your account, impersonate another person, or use EDGE in violation of applicable law.

3. EDGE Premium subscription

New public subscriptions to EDGE are offered as EDGE Premium, a paid monthly subscription billed through Stripe. Current pricing and feature descriptions are shown on our Pricing page at the time you subscribe.

Unless a promotional offer applies at checkout, the standard public price is USD $17 per month, billed as a recurring monthly subscription.

Some existing accounts may retain grandfathered access under separate historical arrangements. Those arrangements are not offered as new public plans and do not change the Premium subscription terms offered to new customers on the Pricing page.

4. Free trial

Eligible new subscribers may start EDGE Premium with a 7-day free trial. During an active trial, you are charged $0 today. No payment method is required to start the trial.

If you add a valid payment method before the trial ends and do not cancel, your subscription converts automatically to a paid EDGE Premium subscription and recurring monthly billing begins as described at checkout and on the Pricing page.

If no payment method is on file when the trial ends, the Premium subscription ends automatically, you are not charged, and your account moves to the Free plan. Your journal data is retained, subject to the Free plan’s limits.

If you cancel during the trial through the Stripe Customer Portal (available from Settings when you have an active subscription), you should not be charged for the subscription period that follows the trial, subject to Stripe’s billing behavior and applicable law.

The 7-day free trial is a commercial trial offered by EDGE. It does not replace, shorten, or limit any statutory withdrawal or other mandatory consumer rights that may apply to you under applicable law. See Section 8 and our Withdrawal information page.

5. Founding offer

From time to time, EDGE may offer a limited founding offer to the first 500 qualifying new Premium subscriptions. When available, the founding offer typically includes:

• $0 charged today;
• a 7-day free trial;
• a first paid month at USD $10 after the trial for eligible founding subscriptions; and
• USD $17 per month thereafter unless cancelled.

Founding-offer availability, eligibility, and allocation are determined at checkout. Once the founding allocation is filled, new subscriptions are offered at the standard Premium price shown on the Pricing page.

6. Billing and automatic renewal

EDGE Premium is a recurring monthly subscription. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the applicable monthly price until you cancel.

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period unless you cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal, available from your EDGE Settings page when you have an active paid subscription.

Your plan status and entitlements in EDGE are updated from verified Stripe billing events. Changes may not appear instantly when you return from checkout or the billing portal.

Prices, trials, and promotional offers may change for future subscribers. Changes apply to future billing periods as disclosed at checkout or on the Pricing page.

7. Cancellation and access after cancellation

You may manage or cancel your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from Settings. Cancellation timing and billing-period behavior are determined by your Stripe subscription settings.

In typical Stripe billing setups, when you cancel a paid subscription it remains active until the end of the current billing period, and Premium features remain available until that period ends. Cancellation is not necessarily immediate upon clicking cancel in the portal.

After your paid subscription ends, Premium features are no longer available. Your journal data generally remains stored in your account, subject to your continued access to EDGE and these Terms.

If a payment fails, EDGE may retain Premium access while Stripe reports the subscription as past due until Stripe marks the subscription inactive, at which point access changes according to your synced subscription status.

8. Refunds and statutory consumer rights

Cancellation and refunds are different. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal according to Section 7 above. A refund concerns charges already made and is handled under this section and applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits or replaces mandatory statutory consumer, withdrawal, cooling-off, or privacy rights that apply to you. We do not ask you to waive rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

If you are a consumer entitled to such rights under applicable law — including in Norway and the wider European Economic Area (EEA) — you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for certain distance contracts. Whether that right applies to your EDGE subscription, and how it works for an ongoing digital service, depends on your circumstances and the law that applies to you. We do not represent that every customer worldwide has a 14-day withdrawal right.

EDGE Premium is provided as an ongoing digital service (SaaS), not as a one-time download of digital content. The EDGE 7-day free trial is a separate commercial offer and does not replace or shorten any applicable statutory withdrawal period.

Accessing or using EDGE during a trial or subscription does not, by itself, mean you have waived withdrawal or other mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

If you wish to exercise an applicable statutory withdrawal right, send a clear withdrawal request to ulrikwest@icloud.com. We will handle valid requests in accordance with applicable mandatory consumer law. See our Withdrawal information page for more detail.

Outside mandatory statutory rights, subscription payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or in cases such as duplicate or incorrect charges that we agree to correct. We do not provide routine refunds for partial billing periods, change of mind after a renewal, or unused time remaining after cancellation.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use EDGE for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to EDGE, other accounts, or our systems;
• reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service except as permitted by law;
• upload malware or content that infringes others’ rights; or
• resell, sublicense, or misrepresent EDGE as a broker, adviser, or signal service.

10. Your content

You retain ownership of the trading journal content you enter into EDGE, including trades, notes, reviews, screenshots, goals, payout records, and related data (“User Content”). You grant EDGE a limited license to host, store, process, transmit, and display User Content solely to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the service for you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of User Content and for ensuring you have the rights to upload any materials, including trade screenshots and payout certificates.

11. Our intellectual property

EDGE, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or brand assets except as needed to use the service.

12. Service availability and changes

EDGE is provided on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.

13. Termination

You may stop using EDGE at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk for other users or the service, or where required by law. Upon termination, your right to use EDGE ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

14. Disclaimers

EDGE is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that EDGE will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that journal analytics will be accurate or complete.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EDGE Westad and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, trading losses, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to EDGE is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid to EDGE for the subscription giving rise to the claim during the twelve months before the event, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD $100), except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would require another jurisdiction’s laws to apply.

If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory statutory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived or restricted under applicable law.

Disputes should first be raised with us at ulrikwest@icloud.com. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, claims may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.
